Since 2007, Ron Wolf has spent most of his Wednesday mornings stocking the shelves at Crayons to Computers, a nonprofit free store for teachers.

He’s there once a week, 10 months out of the year, alongside his wife, Nancy, and the many friends he’s formed along the way. They help out several organizations together, and Crayons to Computers seemed like a great fit for them after Nancy retired from a 25-year teaching career.

Wolf, a retired machine-tool salesman, is known for his wit and infectious energy. Yet behind the wisecracks and high-fives, it’s clear there’s something much deeper.
