Early Learning Tools

C2C’s Early Learning Tools (ELT) Program was launched in 2005 in collaboration with the YMCA, 4C, and Cincinnati Learning Centers.  Early Learning Tools consist of simple but essential educational and literacy materials created from donated surplus items, such as blank playing cards and craft stickers (used for picture recognition and matching), and plastic trays (to house buttons for counting and sorting activities).

Now in Phase IV of our pilot program, preschool teachers from a select number of underserved preschools in our region can access hands-on learning materials at no charge.

Eligible shoppers must be lead preschool classroom teachers or preschool program directors employed at a Preschool Center where a high percentage of the children qualify for free or reduced meal reimbursement with the USDA Child Care and Adult Food Program.  The Center must also be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  In addition, the Center must either be a partner with Cincinnati Public School Early Learning Initiative OR currently participating in the United Way of Greater Cincinnati Child Care funding program.
