About Us

Crayons to Computers was founded to address a pressing need in the community. Thousands of children in greater Cincinnati cannot afford basic supplies for school. Teachers spend between $500 and $1,000 of their own money every year to purchase supplies for their students and classrooms. C2C bridges the gap between the great need and available resources by operating a free store for teachers in the greater Cincinnati area. We hope you will spend time on our website to learn more!

There are many ways to support Crayons to Computers. From donations of school supplies to financial contributions, C2C relies on the generosity of the community to keep its shelves stocked and its store operational.

Volunteer To Shop

Volunteer to Shop (VTS)
Teachers at schools that do not meet the free/reduced lunch percentage requirement can participate in our Volunteer to Shop Program. In exchange for volunteering for an alloted amount of time, a teacher may earn a C2C shopping certificate. A teacher may participate in the VTS program once every other month.

*In order to participate in the VTS Program, you must be employed full-time at a school located in one of the following counties:

OHIO
Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, Warren

KENTUCKY
Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Pendleton

INDIANA
Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio

Volunteer for a Teacher (VFAT)
Our VFAT program allows an individual to volunteer on behalf of a teacher to earn a shopping certificate for that person. VFAT volunteer hours are available Monday – Thursday only. Once an individual volunteers for an alloted amount of time, C2C will send the designated teacher a shopping certificate at his/her school. The shopping certificate may be redeemed at C2C during regular store hours. A teacher may have one person volunteer for him/her once per school year.
