Volunteer FAQ
What if I need to cancel?
This time is reserved exclusively for you. 24 hours notice is required if you are unable to keep your volunteer time slot. Please email your cancellation notice to sholland@crayons2computers.org. In the case of an emergency, please call (513) 482-3290 prior to your scheduled time.
Does C2C have an inclement weather policy?
On days with inclement weather, C2C will announce a decision to close by 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please look for Crayons to Computers during the school/business closings. You can also check our status by calling (513) 482-3290.
What should I wear?
Please wear casual/comfortable clothing; closed toe shoes are required.
Who may volunteer?
- Individuals
- Groups (service clubs, companies, etc…)
- Community service (including court appointed)
What is the minimum age?
Persons must be at least 10 years old. Children (ages 10-14) must be accompanied by an adult. Middle school children in a group must be accompanied by 1 adult per 5 students. If you are volunteering for community service hours (for school/work), you cannot participate in C2C’s “Volunteer for a Teacher” program.
What is the Volunteer to Shop (VTS) Program?
Our VTS program allows an individual to volunteer and earn a shopping certificate he/she can use to shop once at C2C. An individual may participate in this program if he/she is employed full-time certified at a school located in the 16-county radius served by C2C. Since only certain personnel are permitted to volunteer to shop, please contact Sarah Holland at sholland@crayons2computers.org to find out if you are eligible.
How often may I Volunteer to Shop?
An individual may participate in our Volunteer to Shop program once every other month. Teachers may shop up to eight times per school year through the Volunteer to Shop Program.
What is the Volunteer for a Teacher (VFAT) Program?
Our VFAT program allows an individual to volunteer on behalf of a teacher (K-12 only) and earn a shopping certificate for that person. Once an individual has volunteered at C2C, a shopping certificate will be sent to the designated teacher at his/her school. The shopping certificate can then be redeemed at C2C.
How often may I volunteer for a teacher?
A teacher may have one person volunteer for him/her once per school year.
Is there anything I need to bring with me?
